Monitor Brightness

My old monitor crapped out on me, so I went over to the thrift store and grabbed another one for a couple bucks. Problem is, the screen in not nearly as bright, and has interfered with my gaming. I have turned the brightness and contrast all the way up, but to no success. Is there any way to tell the video card to increase brightness?

The new monitor is a Gateway EV700 (CRT), and my video card is a S3raphics ProSavage DDR. Please help- no civ for me until I get this fixed!

Right-click on desktop > Properties > Settings tab > Advanced

Install the latest driver if you can't find any way to configure it

Thank you GVBN. In there, there is a tab which allows me to boost brightness over 100.

Now I just need to fiddle with them until they look good...
