Hello all. I know it's been a while since I posted here, but I have been lurking and I'm grateful to everybody who has been posting and keeping things here interesting and informative. Here's what's on my mind: I've been doing some work that has frequently involved some down time--and sometimes several hours of it. I've also had a renewed interest in playing MOO (1). Therefore, I had the idea to see how I could play it while working. Because of the environment I've been working in and my desire for maximum portability, I'm inclined more towards a PDA--or perhaps a "smart phone" (if one exists that could possibly run a DOS emulator and MOO)--than I am towards a laptop/notebook computer, though I'm willing to consider that option as well. I recognize that modern computing equipment has some minor, ancillary uses besides playing MOO
and would like a good blend of MOO-playing ability, reasonably modern features, and a fair price. However, the complicated nature of technology these days makes figuring out that "sweet spot" a little difficult, at least for me.
I found this page posted by a man who got MOO working on a PocketPC. However, the post dates from 2006.

I haven't found much else besides the DOSBox and PocketDOS sites themselves, and I'd feel more comfortable if I knew other MOO enthusiasts had been successful doing this.
I know that PDAs have been losing ground in the market to smart phones. It looks to me like I can still get a PDA that should be able to run either PocketDOS or DOSBox and MOO--if nothing else, by buying one that's used, though again, something reasonably recent with good features would be nice. I don't know a whole lot about smart phones, so if someone here does, please chime in.
So, my reason for posting is to see if anyone in this community plays MOO on a PDA or smart phone, and if so, if you have recommendations on (most importantly) hardware, also software, and "how-to". If you've been able to run MOO at a good clip (in the link above, the person posting did mention a slow speed), so much the better, and please share.
