More 1.7400 patch woes

So I got Civ IV and enjoyed it. Went to download the patch, it failed to auto install properly, now I can't un-install it (the patch) so I can re-install off the CD.

I'm running Windows 7, have plenty of storage space, 4 gig of RAM, and an Intel High Def HDMI video card.

When I try to un-install, I get this error

I've checked my regedit and there isn't any register key in there for firaxis...


Any ideas?

look for registry entries that contain the GUID string:
CFBCE791-2D53-4FCE-B3FB-D6E01F4112E8
those need to go.

ok im dealing with the same error but cannot seem to understand the instructions.

i tried manually removing all the files, but in my program/features civ 4 is still visible and not able to be uninstalled.

should this be a lot easier or is it as frustrating for everyone???

what exactly are you trying to do, what have you done so far, what operating system is this and do you know anything about regedit?
