I need some tekkie advice about this (keeping in mind that my tekkie expertise ends right after I hit the power switch!).

Once I got a new computer with Windows XP I was no longer able to play MOO II. It would get 50-100 turns into the simulation and the screen would first light up like a Christmas tree, then a bunch of garble, then I usually had to re-boot to get out of the simulation.

Reading the boards here I got MoSlo but the results are about the same, except that maybe I can go a few turns more before it happens. I've read through the documentation, have no idea what to put in for all the settings. I tried it using the default settings first, then tried playing and fumbling around changing a few parameters...no luck. I also tried default speed, method 2...ditto on luck.

Can anyone give me some info on what settings to use in order to play MOO II again? Believe me when I say would be eternally grateful for any and all help! Thanks much.

Page Up and Page Down will alter the speeds. It comes with a users guide in a PDF. At least mine did.

You can also go to their web site and get lots of answers.

I had some of the issues you mention, but it was cured with a new video card and drivers.

I run at 48% to resolve the mouse sticky issue.

You could also try the Dos version of the game and, then even use DosBox on the Dos version.
