Most overhyped "controversial" band in the history of popular music?

Have anybody heard that song by the 3 spanish girls who call themselves Las Ketchup? Their song 'Aserejé' has just passed the 3 million mark in sales. The chorus goes like this and I quote:

"Aserejé ja de jé de jebe tu de jébere sebiunuova majabi an de bugui an de buididipi"

It does not really mean anything. Nevertheless the rumour in Mexico and the rest of Latin America has it that the song is an advertisment for old Lucifer himself. Appartently 'Aserejé' is a transliteration of 'Hereje', which is spanish for 'heretic'.

The girls reject the notion and say it is just a babble-song inspired by Sugarhill (there goes the neighborhood) Gang's 'Rappers delight'.

Once again, controversy sells. Mind you, it is a giddy song, although it has been a bit overplayed.

yeah, Im aware of those :crazyeye: people complaining about the song.
but the"reasons" the said are SO STUPID that you can belive how can people discuss that.
I mean in "ASEREJE" the say the hidden sentence is

A SER = to be EREJE= heretic
DIEGO TIENE CHUELERIA= a magic spell on diego
CON LA LUNA EN LAS PUPILAS=with his eyes over the moon (which means he only leaves home after midnight)

and some other stupid arguments like that.I dont belive them, but sound fun when you hear people calling to avoid listening that song:D

Just to be clear here
I most certainly did not mean that the Beatles and Elvis were overrated. just controvercial for there time.
GOTH on the otherhand ....
