Mounted Ranged mod.

Hey all.

I'm about to start a mod that adds a full mounted ranged unit line into Civ. It will start from chariot archers and move through the ages till the end. I'll also move all the ranged mounted UU's to this line so that they do not lose all their promotions like the currently do when upgrading to cavalry.

I do have a question though. Does anyone have or is anyone willing to make some model for the units in game?

models I need are:

Horse Archer
Mounted Crossbow
Half Track - Possibly the one form Hulfgar's Industrial Warfare mod?

The mounted ranged unit line will work like this:

• All mounted ranged units will have a range of 1.

• All mounted ranged units will be able to move after attack (like mounted units).

The upgrade path will look like this:

• Chariot Archer (will receive a bit of a buff to let it last a little longer than it currently does).

• Horse Archer (around the same time as composite bowmen)

• Mounted Crossbow (around the same time as knights and crossbows)

• Half Track (around the same time as tanks)

• ? if anyone has any ideas of what the last one should be I'm all ears.

I think there should be something between Mounted Crossbow and Half Track, perhaps Dragoons?

There are two Horse Archer models already in the game: The Hun Horse Archer and Mongolian Keshik, but it you want to make them look different than the UUs, you need a new model indeed...

Yeah it could possibly use something in there, but Dragoon is just another name for cavalry.

Not realy, dragoons used Infantry formations since they were basicly mounted Infantry, where Cavalry had thier own.

Ok, well it's the best option so far so I'll squeeze them in.

I started making this mod last night and realised how jam-packed the tech tree is now! Makes it hard to choose specific techs to activate the units.

So far I'm going with:
civil service for the horse archer.
Metallurgy for the mounted crossbow.

That's as far as I've gotten so far.
