Move a town to get a good Iron Works city?

Great News!!

We have not one, but two locations where Iron Works can be built.

Elephantine is already located so this small wonder can be built there, but unfortunately this fine town is in a location with insufficient food to grow, so it is not an optimum location.

The other place we could build Iron Works is in the vicinity of Nafstac and Slice of Bacon. If either one of these towns were moved one tile toward the coal, Iron Works could be built there and surrounded by grassland and on a coast, giving essentially unlimited growth potential. The last time I got this opportunity, the city which built it was cranking out tanks in one turn with wasted shields, and spaceship parts in 3. It even built a modern Wonder in only 7 turns.

I say go for it! Let's move Slice of Bacon one tile NW. Mine and RR the hills, and irrigate and RR enough grassland to allow growth, and make it a major powerhouse. The only thing remaining to worry about is corruption.

or the classic "New Slice of Bacon"

or "Fresh Slice of Bacon" ;)

How about we just call the new city SPAM? Now where were we....?

I think that this would be a great idea. Since Slice of Bacon is somewhat corrupt, we can probably build much-needed workers from there to get it to Size 1. Then we abandon the city.

After that, we need to build a Temple in the new site to gain access to the full city radius. After that, we should build Iron Works. Once that glorious project is finished, we can then build a Courthose quickly and then, whatever we want.

I'd be hesitant to move the city, considering the investment we've already made improvement-wise. However, for the Iron Works, it's a wise move.

If we do go forward with the move, get a move on the polls. I don't want to see that granary completed before we move the city.

Would the new city use all 21 tiles, or would it be sharing?

It looks like Iron Hills could also build the Iron Works.

Thanks, I completely overlooked the possibility of a 3rd site in my shock at finding two. :scan: Iron Hills it is! :goodjob:

@Donsig, I have requested the poll to be closed.
