Moving from v31 to v33, how to continue saved game?

I'm having a bit of a problem continuing my saved game from v31 to v33. v31 is is a folder named 'C2C Release' (as it was extracted from the .7z file). v33, was installed to a folder called Caveman2Cosmos, because of the installer. So when I open up v33 and try to open my save it says it requires the mod 'Mods/C2C Release' to be opened, game will restart. Ok, so I tried renaming the v31 folder and reloading the save in v33, instead it ignores the mod directory that doesn't exist and loads up BtS, which of course won't work.

I am currently trying with renaming v33 to 'C2C Release' (and breaking all the shortcuts) and running from there, it's fiddly not sure it will work.
How can I get it to work without having to rename folders?

As far as I know renaming the folders is the only way to get the save to work.
