A while back, we voted that we wanted to move our Palace.

Moving our Palace to a more central location should reduce the corruption in our empire. The effects can be seen in CivAssist for different Palace locations, but it must be remembered that the numbers given by these tools is for the current situation with our current capitol area far more developed than other prospective sites. This is likely to skew the position over towards the more developed area.

The questions we need to ask are:

Where do we want to move our Palace to?
How do we do it?
When do we do it?

for the first question the green dot (Husborne Crawley) was mentioned, as was Chaos
for the second, we have the choice still of a MGL, building by hand and a Palace jump
and the third probably depends on the second.

A MGL seems a good choiche now for the move, building by hand will be too slow, and abandoning Camelot, even if we rebuild it would lose that history.

And there lies the final question. We can chose the best possible location Civ wise for a Palace, but do we actually want to move location. Camelot has been our nation's capitol since 4000BC. It started small and has grown with our nation, seeing us rise to greatness on our continent, our Settlers (and armies) spreading across the land. Do we want to keep Camelot even though it is no longer in the best position game wise?

Let us now decide where we would move to and how, the final vote can then be the new position or stay in Camelot.

PS: Sorry, no map, stats etc at the moment, I've got cable problems tonight and keep losing all TV/Internet access - and when I get connected its so slow  .

I suggest building it in Husborne Crawley or as i like to call it "green dot". :D Also, i thought we built an army with the MGL. Did we get another i'm not aware of? Or do you mean when we get one in the future?

ah, thanks for clearing that up.

Here are some corruption figures, comparing the situation with the palace in Camelot vs the palace in Husborne Crawley. Total corruption would go down by 14 gpt if we move the palace, or about 2.2% of our entire economy. Also the corruption percentages vary little. The main difference seems to be that a palace move will give a few more fairly noncorrupt cities.

I keep thinking a palace move isn't worth it. If we want to do it anyway, then Husborne Crawley may not be the best place (too close to Oxford), and an MGL is the best way to do it.
