MP civ2?

Hi

I live in Australia and I own Civilization II multiplayer, but it is not gold, and I can't seem to go into those online places to play, because mine is not gold.

Can anyone tell me what my game is, how can i play over the internet with my multiplayer version of CivII.

If it is not gold, it is probably civ2 Test of Time, not a lot of people have this version and it is not compatible with civ gold

You have 2 options - Find other players with Test of Time and play them
Use downloads available from downloads section of this site to convert your Test of time edition to the gold edition, this is how I play multiplayer games mostly, although I play the occasional Test of Time game as well

Test of Time is a technically superior game, but unfortunately not commonly used

Yeah I converted it to gold, but when i tried to get the new patch to play on zone.com, it said it couldn't find my gold game

So where do you guys play civ2 gold?

Games are usually organised directly between people on icq mostly, but sometimes msn or other instant messenger. Therefore it is best for you to download icq (use a search engine to find it) and advertise your availability to play with your icq number included. Keep doing it and respond to other peoples messages by contacting them directly through icq or msn and you will soon get a game

Make sure you have downloaded the patch correctly into your civ2 directory. If you have then (ie each individual file in the patch must be placed in the directory - not as a subdirectory in the civ2 directory ) then you should be able to play civ2 gold without any problems
