So, I was playing as the Luchuirp, and I noticed (with some annoyance) that it takes an obscenely long time to build Mud Golems. That got me thinking... why?

Yeah, they aren't built with food... but that's a problem, not a bonus. Yeah, they benefit from Barnaxus' promotions, but they aren't combat units, so that's no help.

And then I thought... why not let them benefit from Barnaxus, like all the other Golems?

As such, here's my suggestion... give Mud Golems 1 Strength. That will prevent them from being captured (of course), allow them to defend themselves against some Barbarian attacks (especially with Barnaxus), and will justify their increased cost.

I actually think that if anything, they're a bit strong. Admittedly, it's annoying that the first one takes longer than one would like, but note that for their cost, Mud Golems are worth more than Workers.

Worker
Summary: Cost 75, Build at 100% rate.

Mud Golem
Summary: Cost 100, Build at 150% rate.

Ahh... I didn't realise that.

That being said, something else I noticed. Mud Golems build regular mines instead of dwarven mines. As such, the Luchuirp cannot build dwarven mines at all. Was this intended?

beyond the very first one, they're solid with that faster work rate

as for the first one, it's notable quality is taking longer, and not using food

HOWEVER, i like having the first mud golem not use food, it allows my city to grow, i don't have to micromanage my city, and i get more pop before anyone else

it's just an alternate way of doing things

can't give workers 1 strength because then the worker ai wouldnt work for them.

dwarven mines are built by dwarves, not golems. also note that the luchuirp are pretty much gnomes not dwarves fir any purpose you can think of.

in general, id say golems are amazing, because they work faster and allow your city to grow.

What Sureshot sed. :)

Actually the luchuirp are specced to get dwarven archers (well javlineers and throwing axemen and pistoleers and whatnot).

But then we get strange things happening.

If the standard Luchuirp warrior gets captured in battle, he can build a Dwarven Mine. But the worker golems his whole society uses to develop the lands cannot?

i think they should be gnomes to avoid all the confusion surroundin them :p

but runes people cant build dwarven mines, but the slaves from them can.. but that works out perfectly so that even if theres no elf player in game theres still a chance for forest cottages for anyone.
