Well this will be my first time post, allthough i am a long time reader from the war academy articles what really was good for reaching a higher level. I learned the most how ever from the players like Unconquered Sun and Sisiutil thank you and the others who take time to make such awesome posts.

Inspired by them i thought it would be nice to do the same for a multiplayer game. Since i like to improve more and have seen people really give constructive advice which i like. So here is the start up from the game.

We play with 6 players on a hamachi pittboss game, some trouble to start it up and we are still not able to password our civilization but it works and i fully trust them and also my self i wont cheat to login on their account. But i hope Firaxis will improve the pitboss before CIV V is produced (and it would be nice if they gave a little more information on how it works instead of letting players figure it out for themselfs).

Anways, 6 players on a small continent game with low water and its a FFA (free for all).

Here is some info on the players i am up against
Civilization Traits UU UB
Ghandi Phi/Spi Fast Worker Mausoleum
Suleiman Phi/Agg Janissary Hamman
Willem Fin/Cre East Indian Dike
Boudica Agg/Cha Gallioc Warrior Dun
Catherine Cre/Imp Cossack Research institute
Issabella Spi/exp Conquistador Citadel

Ghandi, hardly played any CIV so he plays at noble
Suleiman, good player plays normally at monarch (now he is at prince)
Willem, never played before, he also plays at noble now
Boudica, currently beating prince but he is also at noble difficulty
Catherine, good player which i didnt know so he plays at noble too
Issabella, which is me i start to get a hang on monarch and this game i play prince

Futher please note that none of us ever has played a CIV multiplayer game, we decided to get this game going and see how we like it and how it turns out. There is no time restriction for your turn. The good thing is that we have lots of time to do our turn the bad thing is you have to wait pretty long for each update.

Please feel free to give any comment any let me know if you think this is usefull.

Start

It is 4000BC and Issabella is ready to found her first city. (I am sorry but i was so exited to start playing that I settled in place and also due this being a multiplayer game and speed is one of the most deadly factor i believe)

When i settled i was hoping for some seafood but we have to do it with cows, it is nice to see the stone within the BFC allthough i didnt intend to build any wonders but stick the hammers into military i get tempted, especially knowing that none of my rivals are industrious.

My first build is warrior just incase someone declares war on me and i would feel pretty silly seeing Madrid getting caputured by a lonely warrior.

The teching however is less obvious since Issabella starts with mysticism i could grab an early religion. But i am planning to get a large force so the +1 happyness shouldnt be a big isue.

Currently im planning to run the following techline:
Hunting
AH
Masonry
Mining
BW

Switching to archery incase of war which is why i start with hunting besides it being cheaper then agriculture.

Then where should i let my first citizen work? The cows for 3 food or the lake for 2f and 2c? Currently it is working the cows, but i think i will switch to work the lake. cuz in 10 turns it make a difference 16C which almost half the costs of hunting.

And last but not least, is it worth building a wonder instead of a setller or military?

You were right not to start with a worker immediatly because of isabella's starting techs. Appereantly you dont want an early religion, which is fine.
It is a good thing you're on ocean and not in the middle of land, because that would mean you're safe from that direction. Never trust a human player. The best players are those who make weak friends to attack strong enemies. If someone wants to trade with you, make sure you can beat him.
I'm not used in playing technology trading on multiplayer, so i cant give you advice on that.

My tech path would be:
Hunting
Animal Husbandry
Mining
Bronze working

I would finish that warrior, let the city grow to pop 2 using the cow and then start building a worker to pasture the cow with AH. What I would build next is another worker. Mine the stone plains hill (5 hammers!) and then chop another worker and a settler, letting your city work the cow and the mined stone hill. You're exp, so you can chop all you like without running into health problems this early.

I wouldnt go archery next, rather settle near copper or horse and tech the wheel.

I would love to see an update when you've scouted some more :-)

It may be fun to go for stonehenge and pyramids here with your stone when you've developped madrid some more and got 1 or 2 extra cities, especially if horse or copper shows up in your capital. It is interesting to note there are no IND players in your game, so you got a pretty good shot.

Well i do want a religion, since it gives some good bonussus like 25% on wonders and builds for organized religion.

Anyways, we played 4 whole turns in about 10 days :) so might go a little slow but i just post it anyways.

Well making the move at turn 4 reveals issabella isnt the only person on this continent the warrior revealed the green area from Suleiman, which is unfortuanatly the strongest player.

Changes are he doesnt have a unit guarding his city, since i dont have a guard at my city either. It would take my warrior 5 turns to reach it. If he didnt start a warrior right from the start that would mean i would capture his city and eliminate one player.

So what should i do? Keep exploring or DoW and keep my unit on some forest tile with him.
