Does anyone know what determines where people start in multiplayer?
I play 2-player hot-seat games a lot, but I always find that if I'm player 1 and the other person is player 2, we end up right next to each other. We've tried having one of us be player 1 and the other one be another player (like 5 or 8), but even that doesn't have a 100% success rate.
Basically, I want a game where each human player is on a different continent with neighbouring AI. After you conquer your own continent, killing all the AI players, you're ready to take on the other human.
Does anyone have any tips on the settings I should use to accomplish this?
