So I have literally spent two days trying to get mods to work for Civ 5 multiplayer, but I have seen failure each method I have tried. From what I have gathered, I need to just insert the compatible mod into
D: (name)/steam/steamapps/common/ Civ 5/ Assets/ DLC , however the game does not recognize any mod that I have extracted Into it. (I am aware that some mods are just not compatible with multiplayer. The mods I used were ones that a credited Reddit forum said would be functional). In some posts, I have seen people said that to have multiplayer with mods, the Expansion2 file has to be used, but I don't have that in my computer files, so that is fun. Additionally, I have seen on Steam a detailed post explaining to add the game file to such expansion2 folder (that again, I don't have) and also edit the .Pkg file to be able to read the XML files, Yet, once again I do not see any .Pkg file for me to edit.
I am so severely lost that I'm about to give up with this quest to be able to use mods with my friends as CIV 5 is the only game we have of the CIV games and are not looking to purchase any others.
If anyone can help me solve this issue you don't even understand how much help you would be as this search is literally driving me insane. Thanks and Have a great day!
