So, I've been a Civ addict (though not as much as some of you ) for several years. I love Civ IV (although I'm desperately bad at it.) Which makes me think, Civ V seems like the gameplay is significantly different than Civ IV.

Do you think this is a good time to start over and learn from the basics?

I, for one, could use a change of gameplay so I can start over and not feel bad that I can barely win a game at Noble. ;)

Sure. It's a good time for a new edition of Civ.

Alternatively, it's a good time to try a new mod. ( Note to self: If you decide not to purchase V, download Three Kingdoms )

I feel its not going to be the same game, and they are not going to end up with something balanced.

There are many sensible advantages to waiting for several months or longer before plunging in to CIV V. Have you looked at the ALC (All Leader Challenge series) on this forum to help your CIV IV game along? It helped me a lot.

Not too long ago I started watching video walkthroughs on Youtube. I'm getting my early game better down...still flailing in the late game. I often stop and end up saying..."crap...how am I going to win this round." I think my biggest problem is not knowing the dispositions of the other civs as well as I should to be continuously successful.

That's why I'm hoping for a fresh start in Civ V. However, I remained motivated to conquer Civ IV as well ;) Let's just say it isn't anywhere as easy as Civ I was! (And I never played 2 or 3)
