im starting to like these. the computer likes to send a lot of units too, i let them weaken the opponent, than i take the cities.

right now im planning on getting the remaining civs to take out my most powerful opponent.

russia is my target but they have a pact with india, so what happens if i make a pact with india before i declare war on russia?

which side will India take?

India will go with the one that attacks either of its MPP partners in that civs soil. IOW you can attack their MPP (Russia) units as long as it is not in Russia. So you want to get Russia to attack one of your units first.

Most will send out a unit to die that is the least useful. That unit has to be attacked by Russia in your lands.

Take care that you do not help Russia with your MPP's to weaker nation near Russia. IOW it is usually a bad idea to get weak nations in on your side against a strong civ as they will take that weak civs towns and become stronger.

In case I was not clear, you can attack Russian units all day in your lands or in neutral lands and not trigger the MPP.

Would sending a worker or slave into Russian territory for sacrafice work, or does it need to be a military unit? How about a scout?

Never tried either. I would expect a scout to work for sure. You have to have the unit killed in your land, not Russia. I thing I have used a worker, just put it on the border as close to Russian units or towns as you can and wait.

If you have a warrior or archer that is cheap enough.

The only time I ever use an MPP is when I need to declare war on an AI Civ and that civ has a pact with a civ I can't afford to or would rather not go to war with.

MPPs usually get me into more wars than I care to be in at once, the above situation is the only time I find it worth the risk. The only way I lose any more is when the AI civs gang up on me. Of course I'm playing at a level well within my comfort zone. I never had any interest in chasing after high difficulty games, they just remind me of old video games that go faster and faster and throw more and more at you until you are overwhelmed.

russia still has units moving through my territory would this be a good time to start the attack on russia?

Make the MPP with India, attack some Russian units, but leave survivors and units of your own for Russia to attack. If they are already in your territory, that just makes the problem easier. If you kill them all, then they cannot attack your units inside your borders and India's portion of the MPP will not activate.

The Russians have to attack; they don't have to win. Or survive the following turn! :trouble:
