My downloades scenarios are broken

I downloaded some Civ 2 scenarios from this site, but they all have the same errors:
1. The Events.ger file is broken.
2. The Units didn't change (only the pictures)

For example, I downloaded the ALIENS Scenario from the Sci-Fi section, there the Queen has the properties of the normal Civ2 Warrior (attack 1 defend 1 and so on... also the name "Warroir" stayed).

Can u help me about that?

Since you mention the Events.ger, does that mean you have a German version of Civ2?

I bet Civ2 looks for files ending in .ger then, and not for the normal .txt files that all (English-language) scenarios you downloaded have.

Two possible solutions:
1. Rename all scenario's .txt files to end in .ger instead.
2. Change the default language from German back to English (so it uses the .txt files again).

There was just another question coming up:
Somehow i messed up the whole game by installing random patches
Now i want to reinstall it but therefor i have to uninstall it, because if i don't, Fantastic Worlds won't install properly. The question is: Where is the uninstall shield? i have no idea how to uninstall it.

There is no uninstall program. Civ2 is so old, uninstall programs didn't exist yet.

To uninstall there are only 3 things to do:
1. Delete your civ2 folder
2. Delete any shortcuts you created on your deskop or in the start menu.
3. Delete the civ.ini file in your main Windows folder.

If you are going to re-install it into the same directory again, you won't have to do steps 2 and 3.

And you don't have to delete any scenarios or savegames either, nor your top scoring games (your Hall of Fame, in hallfame.dat).
