I keep seeing an "A" appearing occasionally on the grid, anyone know what thats all about..???
also how do you obtain uranium..??

Welcome to CFC, smiffy.:)

I've never heard of it, but it might be some bug. I sometimes get numbers showing around the map in a city window.

In late game if you have many cities, you should be able to see some Uranium-supplying cities. There is a formula for it, maybe someone can give a link to that Apolyton page?

I'm pretty sure ElephantU gave you the answer. Anyway, whenever I see an "A" on the grid, it shows an airbase (the colour of the A being related to the civ that built the airbase).

...or last occupied it?

the colour of the A being related to the civ that LAST OCCUPIED the airbase

OK, then here's a new question.

I have a different airbase graphic that I use. I attempted to duplicate the color-changing effect by using the exact same color of the "A" in cities.gif as a component of the new graphic, but it did not achieve the desired effect, and the color ended up being just the same reddish tint that the "A" is in the file.

Theories? I am using TOT, if that makes any difference.

TOT uses BMPs...

I attemped lining up the reddish bit in the new image with where the reddish bits in the "mystic A" image were -- operating under the theory that it only altered the color on certain pixels of the image, and that this was hard-coded into the game somehow -- but no dice. I played as Germans, put a plane there, left, and all the while the little bit of color remained reddish.

I assume you use the pipet (or whatever it's called), because it has to have the exact same RGB value. It's the same as with the shields on units.

If you mean the eyedropper thingie in Paint Shop Pro, yes I did.

This is a complete guess as I'm not sure I understand what you did but, the airfield doesn't change colors because of it's color. It changes colors because the program changes it's color. If the program is written such that it doesn't realise your new graphic should be edited instead of the original then it's changing the color of the "mystic A" even though that graphic doesn't appear on the screen. I'm guessing the effect is out of your reach.

That sounds the most likely.
