Shift + D doesn't seem to work most of the time when I'm playing a custom alliance game. Every once in a while it works, but the next 10 times I try it, it doesn't. I don't know how much this problem occurs under other circumstances because I haven't had Conquests very long.
The first time I had a problem with this was when I was playing a custom hotseat alliance game with eight civs. The next was a custom single-player alliance game with 31 civs.
This has been very frustrating with the 31 civ game, because, instead of being able to go down a list and give technologies to my 15 allies, I must switch out leaderheads on the diplomacy screen, cross my fingers, and hope that I didn't accidently overlook one. I often have to cycle through leaderheads that I might have given the technology to, but wasn't sure. This is very time consuming, and also very aggravating.
I did give it to Carthage; I'm positive. No-- that was last time-- and the other guys I haven't given it to is the Romans! Or was it the Byzantines? I know they are some shade of red... I think. Gah.
Alternatively, I could use pencil and paper to keep track of who has gotten what, and I would have to do this every time I earn a new technology if I want my alliance to stay ahead. But that also sounds like a pain.
For my current game, I've given up trying to keep everybody at the cutting edge of technology.
