Nameable Geographic Features - Customizable Timeline

As someone who likes to really immerse myself in the stories created in my SP games, I really wish Firaxis would have included the option for us to manually name rivers, mountains etc in the same way we can edit city names.

As for the timeline, I feel it does an incredibly poor job of telling the story of a play through. I wish they would have allowed us to add our own events (without era score of course) to the timeline. For example, the beginnings and endings of wars aren't even recorded. It would be nice to be able to pinpoint certain things and type in some flavor text or edit it.

Instead of the generic barbarian encampment bonus I could edit it to say "The Northern Tribes were finally subdued by General Smith and his Swordsmen in 1236 A.D." etc. Just a lot of flavor that could be added.

If I knew anything about modding i'd try to piece these things together myself.

Would anyone else like these features?

These would be great. I’d also like to be able to rename my civ and leader, as I could in prior installments in the series (Civ II even let you customize your title under the various governments).

Heh, I just keep track of a lot of that stuff with pen & paper.

What I do is I have this one sheet of paper divided up into numerous boxes. In one box I keep a list of what year the world enters a new era, along with when I myself enter that era (and how many years that era lasted). Another box is devoted to religions, listing the religion's name, the civ that founded it, the year it was founded, the Great Prophet who founded it, the attributes of it, and what year it vanished (if it gets wiped off the map). A bigger box is devoted to the other Civs: I keep a list of the order I meet them, and also list the year I meet them (yeah, I know, the Timeline makes note of that), their leader/capital/attributes, what year they're defeated (if such a thing occurs), and now also what secret society they belong to. That's all on the left hand side of the paper. The right hand side is devoted almost entirely to World Wonders, organized by era, where I note the year finished, what Civ built it, and what city it's located in. On the back of this sheet of paper I keep track of the major wars.

On top of all that, I also keep a notebook handy where I list a lot of other details by year, such as what year an AI Civ founds a new city, and so on.
