Back in the day when there was only Civ IV the vanilla edition, I actually managed to be able to read the various tutorials that were availible and add in some extra units. I was happy, even though it was a bit tedious having to edit four xmls, but I could do it.
Then life caught up with me somewhere about the time Warlords came out, and now that I've got Beyond the Sword I'd like to add in a few new units (specifically some of the various planes that are availible in various places on these forums).
Unfortunately, I've become an idiot.
The only thing I've managed to accomplish is turning Global Warming off. Which I admit is nice when you play modern starts on huge worlds with everybody lobbing nukes left and right.
Anyway, what the heck am I supposed to do first? I remember something about unpack / unzipping some files or some such. And of course, then what?
I'd love some help (and some aspirin right about now).
