need advice to begin a space party ;)

Hello Everybody,

I'll start a new game and, for once, i'd like to use space part. As i read for now most option will divide the map, and i like to play on big maps. (i'll begin with prehistoric part of course)
What can you recomand me to enjoy this game the best way?
