- Hi,
1)) I modify “Road-to-War" lately and I have just seen me that it is from now on impossible for me to change the Name of the cities during the play !!!
I do not include/understand what could cause that and how to correct it  (I have already beforehand famous cities in the “CIVCivilisationsInfos” of basic game and other MOD without obtaining that!).
Thank you to communicate your suggestions to me!

2)) In other way, I play out of the historical scenario and the "Diplomacy" here is very crazy… Do you now a Addon to perfect it ?
Thanks ! :help:

I use worldbuilder to edit my city names. (see thread below for instructions)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=135669

I thank you, but I fear that this really does not answer my problem… which is not in the programming of Maps, but “during the evolution of the play”.
Example: if the IA names a city created in the course of play MILANO, I will want to be able at once to re-elect it NAPOLI (or NiceHarbour)… which will be more adequate -and for me easier to locate- since it is located in seaside!
In addition, I have just visited Thread that you me councils: it is exactly what sought, because I am still in search of the famous “WBS files” which I do not find (!!! /I also have just put the question at “WE PLAY CIV” of Dale Kent) but I do not find there an answer here either! :woohoo:
Also, this Thread is very long (since 2002!) and my English deficiencies in language will exhaust me well before being able all to read! I will consult it progressively…

Lastly, I am delighted that you me contacted board, because I was impressed by the presentation of your “Kiwitt Europe Map”…which I however –alas- did not download, because my “RtW” is not anymore “vanilla” (very modified!) and will not thus support it surely! :suicide:
On the other hand, I can have only sympathy to somebody who shares my specific interest (although nonexclusive) for this time, and I will like to share my study of evolution of the MOD “RtW” (they is currently in hand in this form…/in v3.17 !!!), because -all alone and not very good programmer- it is a little hard! :crazyeye::crazyeye:
(And this in spite of the existence already of “WorldWar II-1939” (for v3.19), which -independently of its great qualities- does not correspond however completely to my sensitivity).
Thank you for your attention
;)

I have looked at that version, but prefer RtW's concept of preparing for war. In addition, that mod is focused on units versus units, instead of divisions/corps/armies versus divisions/corps/armies, which fits the scale better. I attempted that concept in version 0.1 of my mod, e.g. added the MAUS", but abandoned it in favour of my current style.

You may want to post some of your ideas you have for RtW in this forum.

I am currently working on version 0.4x (you will see a thread for this in the above forum) and hope to release it before the end of March. This is a very significant enhancement. I may consider some of your ideas into my own mod for release.

Worldbuilder is not just for map creation but can be used to alter the current play situation.
Also, the city lists in the XML are used for founding NEW cities, not existing ones.

Hi,
Thank you, I know… but this obliges to play with the availability in the course of game of the Worldbuilder which it should then be opened with each time one wishes to modify the noun of a city. It is a little painful! :sheep:
In the original version, this is not necessary (one can change the Name of a city by a simple click…). While modifying my files I had to make a silly thing some share… :hammer2: But where?

Hi,
I consulted the texts that you indicate to me and I realize that you already did much good work! :hatsoff:[
Personally, occupied by other games and activities, I began there to work out my MOD apparently a little late…
As, I acknowledge as my engagement is slowed down a little by some technical gaps of the play (on the level of the systems ex-Firaxis?) that I will not be able to improve with my very modest capacities in data processing.

I refer here -between other things- to the excessive state intervention of the screen, his striking down speed which prevents from seeing what one wanted to recognize, on the tiny surface of the cities, the lack of zones of influence of the units (impossible to constitute a Front line), with the impossibility of dodging if one is not in his turn of play, etc…
I cling all the same, but I progressively discover in all the other fields the width of work to be achieved to obtain from this game a somewhat satisfactory simulation and in connection with my knowledge of the subject and with my sensitivity.
Currently, all these lengths despair me a little (I have just lost unnecessarily hours because of unsuspected difficulties to try to modify flags! /without counting the innumerable modifications made to the “Texts” files) and I start to ask to me whether that is worth really the sorrow which I spend still as many energies for a MOD which -held account of my slowness- is likely to be exceeded before its result by a new version of the Game!
On this subject, I am still with v3.17, because the v3.19 involves apparently risks (and losses of use of preceding MOD) which I do not wish.

But… let us return to our sheep (…): :groucho::popcorn:

1) - I read in one of your texts “And No Blitz promotion available for naval units”.
That intrigues me, because personally I chose the opposite solution, that is to say the “Blitz” as of creation, for all ship (no 'sheep' / except Carrier and Transport)!!!
I thus hope to obtain that only one Destroyer (for example) will be able to destroy all not escorted Transport of the same fleet (or of several) without having to only limit itself to 1… while looking stupidly (very !) at passing the others!!! And this appears all the more true to me at the strategic level, also because the presence of a unit in a precise place -or patrol of zone- represents that it develops its activity to with it during a certain time!
If not with "Blitz promotion", how can one carry out this?

2) - Idem for Aviation, did you find how to improve its possibilities of intervention (currently = 1 mission per week?!)?

3) - Lastly, as each one knows -and as I also recall it in other texts on this Forum- the “Visibility at sea” is definitely higher than that on the ground. Did you find how to represent this?

Excuse me for this length….

RE: Blitz ... One of the reason I am removing it is that I find it wrong that a battleship could sometimes attack up to 7 times in a turn, and with my change to allowing units to move up to 60 squares in turn, that would be an even higher 60 attack. Warships battles were few and most were simply submarines attacking merchants.

RE: AViation: A mission is usually a big action, however, interception missions are more frequent

A Square is about 100 miles. I am considering making the sentry option available only to naval and give them a 5 square visibility.

Also, I sympathise with your modding experience. I am always torn between wanting to play, but then I always find something to correct and then go back to miodding.
