Hello, i downloaded this mod, of Adolf Hitler, which really rocks as it has his animation and movement etc. as if it was orginially part of the game. I found it from this guy who explained to me how to run mods (thanks again).

I read a few articles on creating units etc, but i couldnt manage it, as every time i ran it, it gave me errors about the CIV4Unitinfos.xml and stuff about the Panzer tanks.

Here is the Hitler Mod

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=2497

It doesnt have all the folders, so i am adding all the stuff i need for the Unit. I have my bottun image. All i want to do is change the image and the name to TIGER II. (Btw, the image is of a T-34, i dunno why i cant be arsed to find a suitable TIGER II tank.) I will upload my image button. Can someone please help me replace The Panzar tank of this adolf mod to my Tiger II? I will upload the bottuns in a sec.

Thanks in advance,

-Evo

ok, first off your editing the hitler mod? Does the hitler mod come with this tank or is it the panzer that comes with vanilla/warlords?

If your editing the hitler mod, we will start off by making a new folder (presuming you don't already have a 'units' folder in that mod).

Now we will copy from the Warlords/Assets/XML/Units folder.... Civ4UnitInfos and Civ4UnitClassInfos (Again presuming you want to change the class)

You'll paste those files to your new 'Units' folder in the Hitler mod directory.

While your in your hitler mod directory make a new folder called text.

Now for more coping and pasting.. Go into Warlords/Assets/XML/Text folder and copy Civ4GameText_Warlords_Stratagy, Civ4GameText_Warlords_Objects, and Civ4GameText_Warlords_Civilopedia.

Paste all those copied files into the new made text folder in your hitler directory.

Now one last folder to make, In the XML section (Hitler Mod) make a new folder called art.

Once again head into the Warlords assets then XML and go into the art folder you see there copy Civ4ArtDefines_Unit

Phew, now paste that into your newly created Art folder in the XML section of Hitler mod.

Ok so now you have your files placed except for your art files. Now we want to go into the hitler directory and instead of opening XML right after you select Assets we now want to select "art' Now once you open this folder you'll want to create another Folder called Units. Open up that folder and make once again a folder and call it whatever you want but TigerII would make most sense.

Once done here, head into your Civ4/Assets folder and select the art just like you did in the hilter folders. Now you want to find the panzer art and copy the .nif file from that folder.

You'll now paste that .nif file into the newly created TigerII folder in the hilter mod. Once there, you can put your .dds file into the same folder.

Now you've got the art all done, but we still need to edit those files we placed.

Open up all the xml files I mentioned earlier and start editing, hopefully you know a little bit about xml so It shouldn't be hard.

For what your doing really is just changing the Artdefines to head to your TigerII folder and your changing all the names of that unit in all the other files, In the text files you can even change the civilopedia entries to better suit the TigerII

Hope this helped :D
