need help intalling civ on visita

hi ive been through the forums trying to get civ to install on my laptop but with no luck. damn error msg keeps popping up:

2) what exactly did you do with the installshield folder? I did not understand your post in the other thread completely.

well i have windows visita home premium 64-bit. i just created a folder in common files like you said. what am i suppose to do with that folder, cuz all i did was name it installshield. pleeeeess help me out

the error message you post is from windows xp - please post the one you get from vista.
as for vista: that is what I don't understand: the installshield folder should already be there - and needs to be removed/renamed if the install fails. Creating that folder will do no good...

that was the error message when i ran it through windows capablility mode. how do i change it back to visita

is this just civ4 or also one of the expansions?

its civ, i wont know about the expansions till i install the original... any ideas?

remove/rename the installshield folder and the installshield installation information folder - then restart the computer and try to install again. make sure to right click on the installer and choose run as administrator.

Hey - were you ever able to resolve this? I am having this same issue trying to install on a new laptop running vista.
