need help please brought game 2day

hi all, i have brought the game this evening and installed the game. Everything works fine where you select what tribe what map etc, then the map etc starts to a load a man starts to talk and then the option comes up to play the game once i do that it says auto saving top left. once that has done i have an icon of a setler and the screen is just black where the map is meant to be. once that has done my pc decides to turn its self off and shut down, but i can still hear music, but then shuts down completely any help would be usefuly

yea good point,
intel pentium 4 CPU 2.5 GHZ
RADEON 9200 ( i think is my graphics card)

a new thing that just happened to me instead of my pc shutting down i had a window bar comin up sayin my virtual memory is to low, any ideas how to deal with that
