need some help

I have the game civilization complete, which includes all the civilization 3 games.
I wanted to download some user created maps. Do i need to download any modpacks or new units? some levels have units that were created by mods so do i need those mods?

You should only need a mod if the User Created Map specifies it's for a certain mod. If it doesn't, you should be okay.

And it's okay to ask in their threads whether or not you need to d/l a mod for it. Just make sure you read the thread, first. The question may have already been answered.
