New ideas for units

I had a great idea about a new kind of unit. It would be similar to a worker in that a city makes it and it costs one citizen. My idea is an engineer or scientist that can eiter go to a place where workers are building something and increase their production rate while the unit is there
another is to move it to a city and increase production rates in that city.

Please post comments or ideas and if you have the means and knowledge make these characters come to life in the game
 
I think a good unit woyuld be a jeep or something that could transport settlers and workers while still having its own attack and defence strengths.
 
Unfortuently the AI won't have a clue what to do with it.... probably.

I don't know how flexable the base AI is, though I'd guess they will leave it up to us to make more flexable.

I came up with an entire line of convoy-type units starting with the Chariot. The only problem is that, of course, the AI won't know what to do with it.

If only we could apply sea transport flags to land units...then we could have Modern Infantry be actual infantry instead of a cannonless tank.
