New laptop - problem with BTS

HI - hoping someone can help a technical numpty. My PC died on me and I've bought a new laptop. I reinstalled Civ 4 last night, seems to be fine. Then I reinstalled BTS.

I've got CIV 4 icons on my desktop and in my programs list but not BTS. I've got the BTS disk in, and if I eject and reinsert, it gives me the option on starting BTS - it just seems a long way around the problem. Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong to not get the BTS icon?

Also, when in the game, the blue bar under the city fills as it should but it doesn't tell me how many turns left to produce the building/ unit - is this something that will be fixed once I start downloading up-to-date patches?

I think I didn't get one either (nor in the Start -> All Programs menu). You can just create a shortcut manually.

Turn on "Detailed City Info" in the options (I believe it's Control + O while playing).
