Several haven't been posted here before.

Clarify something.

If we use one of those maps, will our Edited mod values still apply with those maps, or, will we have to Edit every single map to get the values we have and want?

If the latter, the maps are useless to me; if more Editing is NOT needed they are worth a look.

Iwould suspect it would depend on how the person creating the map did it. I will check it out later and get back to you if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I thought I read something useful in one of the last 3 chats the Firaxians gave, either here or at Poly. I will look for it later tonight some more.

Here is a quick note; copied from the last unofficial Poly chat.

[Trip] will the new editor have the ability to load/store the scenario rules apart from the actual map tile data?
[DanMagahaFIRAXIS] you mean, like import the map from one bic into another BIC?
[Trip] yes, exactly Dan
[DanMagahaFIRAXIS] trip I think you will be pleased.

Is that supposed to be a "yes", or is Firaxis just being oily and slick again? I hope the former.

Hey, Dan, is it too much to ask you say "yes" or "no"?? You sound like Bill Clinton.

Well, I just downloaded and unzipped one of these.

Nope.

I tried it and units I had Edited OUT long ago were back.

Thanks for nothing, Dan.

I think they meant that with the new editor those things (importing a map into a bic) would be possible, although a case could be made that they meant in PTW rather then the new editor. Either way, I guess that doesn't make it easy, as it would probably still mean rekeying the editor changes again using the new editor (or in PTW) after it came out, but after that those maps would be usable. That, at least, is possible; and hopefully will be what happens. Naturally it would be nice that new and old bics would be compatable with the new editor and the maps, without rekeying, but I tend to doubt that they will be, else they would already be so.
