man, i used to know that too.....i took Political Science in High School and had the greatest teacher. I would look it up, but then that would be cheating.

All the names of the "old communist Guards" were invented, among them - Stalin, Lenin, Kirov, Voroshilov, Trotsky, Martov, etc... Next time you see some "simple" surname like Kirov or Martov be sure - it is an INVENTED name.
BTW saw here someone surprised with Djugashvili, I can't but say all the Georgian surnames end with '-shvili'

and I would in fact say "Yosif Vissarionovich Dzugashvili" instead.
