man thats crazy that u added slaves but other than that its cool!! (yes it happend and heppens in civilisation but its ugly ugly ugly)

I know the institution isnt very reputable but I wanted realism. In this MOD slaves are necessary for a number of projects. For instance the first worker unit is the slave of course and you'll need to have that resource in order to build it. Similarly great buildings such as the Pyramids and the Limes will require it as well.

speaking of which I'll include the tech tree here as well sp that people can judge for themselves. It's an XLS sheet zipped.

Well i think the work looks awesome reguardless of the slavery thing. it must have taken alot of work!! (didnt mean to cast a cloud, was just surprised thats all) . . . i guess i should register so i can have a user name now . . .

grallon could you add the resources form teturkhans mod in your resource.pcx

grallon, is there any way you can be more specific about which resources are your original work, which were modified, and where the latter came from? I'm in the process of compiling the resource section for the library and trying to properly attribute these things is a nightmare...

I don't really have a problem with a slave resource but I would like to mention that evidence has turned up that no slaves were used to build the pyramids. Most notably the workers that died in the construction were buried with high honors in the shadow of the pyramids. They were farmers recruited to work after the harvest came in.
And what about the addition of a hemp resource... Not for smoking as it'll only give you a headache. But because hemp has played a major role as a very strong natural fiber and was a huge cash crop for many centuries.
Other than that it looks decent.

I've edited my first post to answer your question.

You're right about the Pyramids of course; however I am trying to make the game less linear by adding prerequisites (either resources or improvements etc) here and there, hence the slaves. Regarding hemp - you're right there too but I figured Linen would be an adequate substitute - a generic fabric necessary for ships for instance.

Btw Im really impressed with your work on units - you remind me of one Erwan, a fabulous unit designer for Civ II - wonder what happened to him. Anyway what of the tech tree - do you have any suggestions ? Or does anybody ?

Well... I dont really see the point since his MOD is included in PTW... besides from his own account PDESCOBAr is making a compendium so...

Thanks for adding the attributions; if only every resource pack was as thoroughly documented as yours ;)

ahaha. first of all, they are lovely resources and luxuries and if i ever tried to make my own, the elephants would be undistinguishable from the papyrus. anyway, i know this is a pretty basic question, but im new to this stuff. i need to know what im supposed to do after i download it from this site, like which folder i put it in or whatever. thankya!

Dump the file in your: " game dir/art " and make sure you edit the bix file to coordinate the resources graphic file with the resources list in your game.
