I've just sent another scenario, I've made to Thunderfall:
The War of 1812

While Britain was fighting a war with Europe the American President James Madison declared war against Britain and invaded the British colony Canada. He saw this as 'a second war of independence', but the war ended in a stalemate despite of the superiority of the American forces. During the war, the British even managed to reach Washington D.C. and burn it to the ground!

I'm sorry if anyone has felt harassed by my posts about my War of 1812 scenario. I just thought the people, who participated in those forums I posted in would be interested.

Sorry

It has just been posted!

Ummm, sorry to be a bit picky but can I clear up a couple of things on your introduction?

1) Superiority of US forces. I presume you mean in terms of numbers, as this is certainly true. Also, the British forces were largely made up of veterans because Britain, as you rightly say were involved in the Napoleonic wars at the time.

2) Stalemate. Hmmm not sure about that. The intention of the Americans was to invade Canada, and in that they failed (despite setting fire to Toronto) which goes down as an American loss in my book.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Sorry to be picky - but this is an oft forgotten and unknown war. We hear much about the American war of Independence, but little about a war where the tables were turned.

Regards

Yeah, I meant in numbers.

Indeed, the Americans suffered a defeat, but in my book, it's a stallmate, when the war has reached a passive state. None of them were winning, so I think it's a stallmate.

I noticed, that you were registered in civfanatics this very day! Welcome to the Centre!

Thanks very much! :)

I'm English, but I have a big soft spot for Canada, having visited Toronto a few years back. I thought Ontario was a beautiful place - I took in the sights and sounds and got a history lesson from a Welsh ex-pat which I found fascinating.
