New Scenarios

Sorry folks, now that I've found you I can't leave you alone.

My latest problem is this, I have downloaded a new scenario but I don't know how to get it into my game. I presume you have to open a file and insert it somewhere as I have done with other games but I can't find the files.

I'd be grateful if someone could give me step by step instructions. I am using Civ II - The Collector's Edition.

It seems that I am always the first to read your posts, but fortunately others can elaborate on my answers. I don't know which edition is the Collector's Edition. Maybe you can give us more info from the bar at the top of your screen ? Or you can click on Game/Game Options for more info.

The original Civ2 can't handle scenarios, but I think Fantastic Worlds can handle most of them and MGE can handle all (except ToT ones).

Assuming your edition is OK, create a subfolder of your main Civ2 folder called "Civil War" (or whatever) and DL all the scenario files for the "Civil War" scen there. IIRC, that's usually it (unless you have some fancy scen that relies on .bat files, or the sounds don't work). Don't DL directly into your main Civ2 folder, since that can mess up your old files, IIRC.

When you start Civ2 (MGE) one of the options is "Begin Scenario" so you click on that and browse thru your folders to find the scen you want to play. I suppose it works the same in other Civ2 versions.

Thanks for trying to help Pester. It doesn't look as if I can import scenarios on my verson of Civ II. I've actually had it about 8 years although I haven't played for ages so its quite an old version. Maybe I'll get a later model off ebay.
