From the chat we have made with Elucidia we have decided a tech Que for both of our trade advantages. From now until any changes this is the que;

Mysticism>Construction
(the rest of the techs below is the order in which we will research if they are not traded for)

Horseback Riding> Philosophy> Code of Laws> Republic> Literature> Polythiesm

Octavian, per my request, bamspeedy (and someone else whom I regret to have forgotten) just did some WW research.

Here's an important find: every 30 turns of WW points (not a complete formula yet) 25% of the citizens per city become unhappy. Therefore in a size 10 city with ten happy people, 2 become unhappy and 1 becomes content. Then next 30 Turns of WW Points it becomes 5 happy 5 unhappy. Then after 90 points (the next 30) it becomes 2 happy, 1 content, 7 unhappy. After 3 increments (90 Turns of WW Points, now to be know as 90 TWWP), it maxes out. Thus no more than 75% of a city can be unhappy from war weariness, and thats offset by happy methods (including WW cut in half from police stations).

Note in a democracy its doubled. 30 TWWP 50% unhappy. 60 TWWP 100%, 90 TWWP civ falls into anarchy regardless of happiness rate.

Thus the benifits of a republic far outweigh the WW problems.

So far we've learend a lot but TWWP still needs be worked out.
 
That formula may work that way for a nation that has 100% happy citizens in all of it's cities. Cities that are not growing, btw. Go for Republic. I don't think it will matter much.
 
I don't think we should alter our course if we are to get Math before Elucidia will.
