Heres a unit I decided to make in order to fill a hole in the standard epic game and for a scenario I'm working on (this was the last unit I needed for it, Yay!).
Its a heavy fighter or fighter bomber. Since the dawn of flight attempts have been made to create a multi role aircraft, capable of carring out any task asigned to it. In the second world war the heavy fighter was a solution tried by many different nations, mostly with the same or similar design. Mounting two engines on a standard fighter allowed it to go faster, travel further and carry more ordinance. However the resulting aircraft was not as nimble and generals strugged to find an apropriate task for it.
Eventualy however the plane was found to be usefull as a ground attack plane, long-range interceptor and heavy interceptor against well armed bombers such as the flying fortress.
Its difficult to balance out fighters, bombers and etc.. in the epic game as the quick arival of jet fighters makes fighters obsolete almost as soon as they are researched and built. I would advise giving this plane a high deffence value (protection while bombarding), lower attack value (used for intercepting) a good bombard and a long range. On the other hand the standard fighter should have high attack, low defence and weak bombard and short range. In this way the heavyfighter can be used for ground attack and long range intercepting while the fighter is used for intercepting only.
