New Unit: Messerschmidt Me-109 E

W.I.N.T.E.R,

Excellent rendering job. I am looking forewards to seeing it in action.

If I might make one small suggestion based on the graphic zulu posted of the '109, since the propeller looks too small and awkward with the dark ring for the tips, could you test if a larger circle and then with no prop circle still look as good.

I was fortunate enough to see a working '109 at an airshow and the plane looks like an old narrow body BMW race car with wings tied on (it looked fast even when it was just sitting there) I couldn't sit in the cockpit: shoulders are too wide. The pilots had to be smaller men just like modern Formula 1 drivers. The pilot did some simple manoeuvers, but in that small a plane, it was amazingly fast and agile.

The colours you chose and the views all work very nicely. It's unfortunate that you only get to see the planes briefly when the are doing the air superiority role and gunning down bombers.

D.

Thank you gen.dragolen :)

Yes I had a larger popeller before and it looked a bit lame- I can see if I can get rid of the dark ring and make it either much lighter or transparent. I wanted to make an update anyway to fix the wings in the East/West direction (and add some civ colours ;))

My plan is to make a completely new plane though, in corporation with my buddy Omnimower (who is looking for nice 3d models)

Nope- don't think so- (although there are three major lines during the war... still doubt so)

EDIT: Thread no longer Serviced

Some version of the Me109G had a MK108 30mm firng through the prop-hub.

But there were many versions of the 109, in use.
and many had field-upgrade kits...
