New Unit Skin Requests

Everyone remembers the old unit request thread, which, though completely over used and regularly ignored by some posters I thought it might be good to hear some ideas on new unit skins. I say skins because, well, it seems the easiest way to create new units without a lot of complex modeling and 3d knowledge, as well as being quicker. Anyways, seeing as new units have already kicked off by a few ambitious civ fans, I figuered I'd get my say in. Please make posts fairly short, and keep it only to requests.

Just to kick it off, I'd like to see a more medieval looking swordsman to compliment the maceman. Maybe call them Men-At-Arms (yeah I play Crusader Kings too) :p. Also maybe a heavy cavalry to finish up the classical age.

I'd like to see a sipahi (possibly based on the unused companion unit, should be wearing chain shirt, metal helmet, leather or chain pants).

I'd like to see a gallic swordsman based on the standard swordsman as per civ3.

Ed. Also a more khmer looking war elephant:

Though the ones now do look rather khmer so mainly I'd just like some more distinct coloration patterns so that it's distinguishable from the normal elephants.

Here is the request I posted in my "Reskinning axeman => berserk?" thread:

Reskinning units to look like different versions of the same unit (dif. camo type etc.) is nifty, and all well and good, but I think that until implementing models becomes possible (?), reskinning units to look like NEW, completely different units, possibly new UU for new civs (or whatever), would be much more useful.

I've been inspecting the some of the existing units and I think that reskinning the axeman to look like a Viking UU would work quite well and be not to difficult for an experienced skinner. Just reskin his helmet, give him some more clothing (and boots), give him some chainmail perhaps, change his "kilt" into studded leather or the extension of a chainmail or quilted tunic, and poof, instant Viking. Unfortunately, I am not an experienced skinner, so I'd rather not take this task on myself and botch it.

Any takers? If you don't like this idea, I'm sure I can come up with some others (which is to say, I already have) :D
Note: it has already been seconded and "thirded" by other forum-goers.:)

Whoa, whoa, wait... what's this about an unused companion unit? I assume you mean a companion horseman, but where can I find this unit etc.?? If the developers left extra units lying around in the game that aren't being used, I'd like to know about it -- they could be useful.

If you unpack the art files there's a bunch of unused units in C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\Art\units\scenario.

The units listed are:

Knights templar
Companion
Hypsasist
WWI infantry
Sopwith Camel
Mark V tank

The companions are the only ones I've managed to get to work and there are a few animation errors, but then I know absolutely nothing about how graphics work or the civ4 engine handles them, so there you go.
