Newbie question regarding unit icons

I was looking over the unit icons image and I noticed a few units that i've never encountered. I'm wondering what they are and how to get them.

* the red guy with a torch (in the Fanatic's Center image above)
* ballon/blimp
* one eyed alien

Question 2:

I also noticed the ability to add three more units (such as hovertank or such) to a scenario. Have others had success adding additional units?

(I'm using Civ2 single player only version)

You cannot build the fanatic unit unless you'rew in a Fundamentalistr government... It's probably the reason why you can't use this unit when you play, if you don't use this form of government... the two other units seem to be "forgotten" units: they don't appear in the normal game, but in some scens of fantastic worlds...

No you can't add more then three units, but you can replace any units that won't appear in the scen.
