[EDIT]

See post #9 for details of the next update.

[/EDIT]

The cutoff for the next update is 72 hours (3 days) from now (see the timestamp on this post). So, get those games finished/submitted if you want them in!

Great!
Btw I noticed that the civ subsection of the statistics section gets updated live, instead of at time of big update... (for example we can see that there have been something around 20 inca games submitted since last update :) )
Im not saying its bad, just wondered if that was on purpose...

Also, the historic graph of submissions keeps changing around on me.
My hypothesis is that it is getting updated often too, and the labels switch (say were on tuesday, the week number 8 is from tuesday to tuesday 8 weeks ago, but if were on saturday then...) which mean that number 8 keeps going up or down...

Yes, that's exactly what happens, and is intentional. It shows the stats for all accepted games, even those not yet published. The graph is created with the current data in the database each time it is displayed.

This graph also shows stats for all accepted games, even those not yet published. The weeks are all based on the time the graph was created (I.e. when the page is displayed), so yes, games will tend to move from one week to the next when the graph is refreshed.

Thats what I was thinking too :)
EDIT : I think mostly Tiny Chieftain, Warlord, Regent, and maybe Small Chieftain will be affected by the Inca craze.
Past that, I think you would need to much luck to effectively deviate from the Jaguar Warrior Rush...
Judging by the number of Inca submissions, these categories will be VERY heavily disputed though...

I posted 4 games this period. One Inca game, and probably not even good enough to make the top 3. That's fine. Just needed a domination win to acheive the Machievelli.

Speaking of next update, this is possibly my first time in a history of Civ3 to achieve victory in C3C diety level as Egyptians on tiny map. Believe or not, it's a tough game as my other opponent already build musketmen, medival infantry, and pikemen as I managed to take them down with my horde of war chariots.

I remember someone else achieved conquest/domination victory in Sid level as Sumerians and Hittites, however these HOF files just vanish into the winds. Playing in Sid level tiny maps are consider to be suicidal, but it's possible each veteran players could survive and master the techniques of early ancient war if they were to think twice before they move on.

The cutoff for the 2nd April update is 72 hours (3 days) from now (see the timestamp on this post). So, get those games finished/submitted if you want them in!

Nice timestamp. Did you write a script to post these announcments? ;)
Well spotted Dave, I wondered if anyone would notice :). No, I did that by watching the clock while I should have been working. Writing a script didn't even cross my mind, though I did copy/paste the text from above.

As I have made a promise to myself, I won't play any more civ or submit any more game until I finish the next version of MapFinder. I'm going back to hide under my pillow now...hopefully no one will find me.

@Moonsinger: As long as we know where you are and what you're doing [Civ-wise]!

P.s. I'm liking what I'm hearing!! :goodjob: :goodjob:

Well I have one game in there. I started another one but won't finish it in time. I have been spending at least four hours a day the last three days on this d*** game! I am locking up the C3C disk for a few days so I can end the chronic sleep deprivation and catch up on some real life issues. I think I'll hide in the garage and hope no one finds me either!

About hidding under the pillow?

@Moonsinger: Usually Dianthus explains this......But no, I meant that you are working on the next version of MapFinder! (At least that's my "Public" response! )

Well, I did submit a couple games a few weeks ago...hopefully, at least one of them will make on the list. Anyway, I probably will finish up MF before the next cutoff date.
