No Error, No Crash. Just doesn't start.

Please have mercy on me if this has been asked. I'm working 12 hour days with hurricane reparations after Wilma. I have maybe an hour or two to play per day if I am lucky so its hard to chase false fixes.

I loaded up the game on Saturday and was able to play for a good while with no problems other than some sluggishness and stutters. Today I tried to continue the game, but it won't load up.

The loading screen opens. Then I get a box and it says loading while the progress bar fills up, but when it gets to Init Python, it just goes away. The PC doesn't crash and it doesn't give me any errors.

I don't see why it installed fine and ran on Saturday, but today it wont run. Nothing has changed.

I'm running Windows XP on an Atholon XP 3500 with 512MB and an ATI Radeon 9200. Sound is built into the MB.

I looked through this forum and the developer's site. I see many problems, but nothing that matches exactly what I am seeing. If anybody's seen this same thing, please let me know.

Hi rook9566,

Since you actually did run the game at one time, chances are very good that if you re-install the game, it should run. Let us know what happens.
[EDIT] BTW, you can also try clearing your cache folder. Worth a try.

OK,

Yesterday I tried clearing the cache and no fix. Today, after I wrote the above message, I deleted the cache folder, the profile folder and the ini file. This time, the game loaded up. I was happy! I went into single player and chose the saved game from Saturday. It CTD'd while loading and now its back to doing what it was before. Deleting the cache and such doesn't seem to work anymore.

I'm going to try and re-install, but I hope I don't have to re-install every time I want to play the game.
