No Hall of Fame / Profiles not being saved

OK.
I rarely post in Tech Forums.
Most of the time I solve all problems on my own or read the solution given in forums.
But now i have absolutely no(!) idea what is wrong.
First of all Civ4 is running perfect on my system, in regards to graphic/sound/...
BUT
I can't seem to alter my profile, which means if i change some options, regardless of what kind of "option" it is, it won't be saved. I can change everything I like, although the next time I restart the game, all will be set to default again.

I have another problem too. I have completed numerous games, but NONE of them shows up in the "Hall of Fame".
Reinstalling didn't change anything.
Im close to going mad
So please help me

Mmmhm, me too! Real annoying, just hope they'll fix it in the next patch...

i believe the problem is that the game engine does not support Unicode Directories for saving files and profiles.

My default Civ4 save directory is a greek one (due to my greek user name. for example: C:\Documents and settings\GREEK_USERNAME\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meiers's ...) .

I do not now how to change it. But if I could, I believe the problem would be solved.
By default where are the profiles/hall of fame saved?

Ok. I created a new user with "ASCII" characters and everything worked ok.

Thus, the problem is the "Unicode" user name.
