No multiplayer?

I recently reinstalled Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire in order to play online with a friend. I patched it to the final edition, but the only multiplayer option I get is the Hotseat and play by e-mail one. I can play single player normally. How can I fix the problem?

I think those are the only multiplayer options, though I may be wrong...

My friend has managed to play online with another guy, so there sould be such an option

I thinks that hotseat allows you to play over a network or the internet. I haven't been able to take a break from the game and continue at a later time, though. Saved games were screwy in multiplayer for me.

I use to play multiplayer all of the time back in 99 and 2000 even with crossfire. I just bought another copy and hopefully they havent changed anything. If its the patch Ill just stick to the last patch that works. I am going to install it tonight so I shall find out tonight.

Why don't you help us with the smac mod for civ4... perhaps you can play multiplayer then....!!
