No terrain labels

When you put the mouse cursor on a terrine type a label would show what it is, for example plains hill, grass, (no beep). The labels are not showing in my games, what is wrong? I have uninstalled mods, no joy and I have ran Steams verify files with no joy. Yes I do know if the terrrain is not explored I will not see what it is.

I don't know if it works, but when I hold shift over a tile the tooltip comes up for it. Maybe it's just an illusion for me, but you can try it.

Thank you for the reply. In the interface all are checked, grid, resources, yield.

I think he meant in the Settings – there is a setting called 'plot tooltip delay' which I think means the delay before the tooltip shows up for you when you hover over a tile. Check and see if you've accidentally changed that to a high value, usually its 1.1 seconds.
