i dunno if this has been mentioned because i just got to this forum. But we need some Non-Agression pacts. That way you don't have to Ally with somebody but you can be sure they wont attack you.

I could see some potential problems with this and the Mutual Protection pact however. Like Say You make a NAP with Civ 1 and Civ 2 Has a MPP with Civ 1. If you go to war with Civ 2 then Civ 1 would be forced to go to war with you, even with your NAP. Im sure there must be some way to work around that though.

Yeah, thsi problem happens in real-life too. In WWII Germany and Japan sort of had a MPP. But Japan had a non-aggression pact with the USSR. When the USSR and Germany went to war Japan was supposed to have helped Germany. But it had a non-aggression pact with the USSR.

Maybe it doesn't have to be resolved. Maybe in this case you get the choice of breaking the MPP and honoring the non-aggresion pact, or breaking the non-aggression pact and honoring the MPP. You would get a reputation hit either way and it would force players to think startegically before they enter into these pacts.

Either way we need Non-Agression pacts. I don't know how many times I wished I could just make a Non-Agression pact instead of a military alliance.

I doubt that a 'non-aggession pact' would be any sort of guarantee, if historical precedent comes into play:

The Molotov-Ribbentrop Treaty (the Hitler/Stalin Pact) of 1939 between Germany and the Soviets didn't stop Germany from invading the Soviet Union in June 1941.

Obviously, if this were to happen, the aggressor would need to take a huge reputation hit.

What's the difference with the current peace, which you can renegotiate every 20 turns if you want to. If you declare war during the 20 turns, then you get a rep hit.
