Hi all,

I notice that I have to keep my Lenovo U410 laptop in charge (connecting to power source via power cable) in order to play civ5 game without speed slowdown. Otherwise, the game will slow down considerably. Does anybody have this problem? How do you resolve this problem (changing setting?) ?

Thank you.

Probably related to the default power saving settings to enhance battery life.
Try to find and enable a power (saving) plan called high/maximum performance either in the Lenovo system tools or the Windows power options.

This will considerable reduce battery time.

If this doesn't work, try to look in the BIOS settings.

There's also a remote possibility that it is a bug related to the switchable graphics.

Normally, using default settings, a computer will run at full speed/power when plugged in. When it is running on battery, the computer will limit itself to save power. In Windows, there is a power options setting that allows you to decide what happens when you are running on battery.

You can change these settings if you want, but it will reduce your battery's charge. Normally for intense games, I recommend staying plugged in.
