"Number of Armies Required" Question

The Pentagon requires 3 Armies in the field, right? I assumed this refers to three of MY Armies, not just 3 Armies in the world.

So I set "Sun Tzu's Art of War" to become available when one Army is in the field. But now it's become available before I've built an Army.

I'm not sure how clear I've made myself, but if anyone understands, and may know what the problem with this is, please help me out. Thanks!

Someone else has an Army.

The difference between the two Wonders is one is Great (buildable by anyone) and the other is Small (each civ can build one). The Pentagon needs 3 Armies of yours. Since you modded the Art of War, and it is a Great Wonder, as soon as anyone has an Army, then it becomes buildable.

Do you know if this applies to "Buildings Required" as well? Say I set a Great Wonder to require 5 Universities- would that mean five in the world, or just my civ?

I think anything you put as a minimum limit for a Great Wonder will be worldwide total. It might require you to build 5 before you could build it.

However, in the example you just mentioned, most of the AI's I play against rarely build Libraries as a high priority so that would set a limit on them building it timely.
