Number of CivIII copies sold

I tried to find this info somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Does one of you know how many copies of Civilization III copies have been sold?

I had no luck either searching for it. Only the broad 'Several million copies of various versions' came up here and there, mostly from statements made 7 or 8 years ago.

Don't forget the 1000000 copies donated to history canada mod in 2007.. THat number ontop of the usual sales would have made a higher number then civ4 for the year
