I recently bought Civ 3, and the performance isnt very good. I've heard that Nvidia has a problem with its cards. If this is true and if so will there be a patch coming out soon?

I havent heard of any NVidia card problems. I've been running this game on a GeForce 2 for the past couple weeks and it's been running great.

Post your system specs when you're complaining about speed problems as it's possible you're having problems related to hardware you didnt think would have been a problem.

The trouble that Civ3 has with nVidia card is not a game-killer nor a crash. It's simply that it slow down the game. The best way to deal with it is to reduce the graphic hardware acceleration (two slides toward the left from "full hardware acceleration"). This will make the game run faster.

only problem is that its not the only game I play, then all the rest will run crappy, or you have to keep adjusting the slide. this is inexcuseable. They will fix it. And yes it will eventually cause the game to crash, especially when a whole new territory is revealed.

I have the same problem. GF2 GTS running under XP. Its terribly slow scrolling screens. I have the latest drivers, No Change...

I just deal with it... Maybe Ill try the hardware settings, if I wanna play something else Ill just move it back. Not a big deal at all...

I have the same problem scrolling screens ... though I have old hardware - a RIVA TNT...but my performance is only poor in graphics...and inordinately slow.

I know it is graphic performance because slow downs are on animations and really bad for screen scrolling.

I will try the slider as well...

I have a GeForce 2GO video card on my laptop and Civ3 runs great; but on my PC with a GeForce 3 I get pretty poor performance. I'm using the latest drivers but something tells me this might be some kind of bug.
