Yup.. that's about the way to go.

I actually ended up winning a cultural victory by accident. I ended up in what I thought was a losing Wonders battle, because the wonders that gave military/financial advantages kept getting built and I had to switch to more cultural/happiness ones. The Aztecs and the Egyptians were on either side of me, and I was losing my outer cities quickly, then all of a sudden I got a cultural victory.

Still have to get a game going long enough to actually lanch my SS. Only had two games make it far enough where I could even start building the SS.

Great Post!
I just started a new game as Egypt and am shooting for a cultural victory. I figure with the bonuses as an industrious/religious to making all those temples and cathedrals, I should be a shoo in. Right now just racing to get my city number up high enough. The only thing I worry about is the timing of my GA -- what with the Pyramids ranking #2 for ancient wonders and #6 overall. I'll just have to wait and see.
